Tax Manager – Melbourne

About the role

William Buck is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Melbourne Tax Services team. The role offers exposure to a diverse client base and a broad range of tax matters, including domestic and cross‑border advisory and compliance, while providing a clear pathway for career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality tax advisory and compliance services across corporate and international tax matters, including complex transactions and CbC reporting.
• Provide technically sound, commercial advice to clients operating in multiple industries and jurisdictions.
• Assist with complex technical issues and ATO matters, working closely with Partners.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Manage and mentor team members, including delegation, coaching, performance management and development.
• Contribute to strategic planning and growth of the Tax Services division and identify business development opportunities.

Required profile

• Relevant university qualification with 5+ years’ experience in business tax at manager level.
• Post‑graduate qualifications such as CA, CTA or a Masters of Tax.
• Proven experience in a tax advisory or professional services environment.
• Strong technical capability across corporate and/or international tax.
• Demonstrated experience managing client engagements and leading teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, relationship‑driven approach.
