Small Business Specialist – Banking & Lending

About the role

The Small Business Specialist works from an ANZ branch to deliver comprehensive lending and working‑capital solutions to both new and existing business customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping small enterprises grow while supporting ANZ’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Meet a broad range of business customers in‑branch to understand their banking needs.
• Make outbound calls to existing customers to identify additional banking requirements.
• Collaborate with product partners and internal stakeholders to design suitable lending and working‑capital solutions.
• Act in the best interest of customers, recommending appropriate products and services.
• Build relationships with the local community to generate commercial value.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external networks.
• Track record of meeting and exceeding performance targets.
• Capability to assess creditworthiness using qualitative and quantitative factors (the 5Cs of credit).
• Understanding of small‑business operations, lending, transaction banking and working‑capital solutions.
• Familiarity with financial terminology and statements such as profit & loss, balance sheets and cash‑flow statements.
