Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

HelloCFO is seeking an energetic Senior Tax Accountant to join its high‑performing team supporting fast‑growing Australian technology startups. You will work hands‑on with innovative founders, providing tax and commercial advice as they expand globally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advice for international expansion and strategic group structuring.
• Support client due diligence in capital‑raising and M&A transactions.
• Collaborate with the Virtual CFO team to deliver commercial insights.
• Leverage AI and new tools to improve service delivery.
• Prepare annual income tax returns and financial statements for business entities.
• Manage indirect tax obligations including GST, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax.
• Advise on employee share schemes, restructures and capital gains events.
• Assist clients through external financial audit processes.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of experience at a mid‑tier or Big 4 Australian accounting firm.
• Degree and completed or near‑completed CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong technical foundation in Australian corporate tax.
