Senior Lead, Operational Risk & Resilience

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Senior Lead for Operational Risk & Resilience to partner with Enterprise Finance and Corporate Enablement functions. You will oversee risk assessments, control design, and regulatory change implementation across the organisation’s value chains, processes, systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders and lead operational and resilience risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains.
• Partner with business units to design, uplift and embed sustainable risk controls aligned with enterprise frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Support regulatory and policy change implementation through impact assessments, guidance and business engagement.
• Analyse risk trends, emerging risks, control effectiveness and root causes to deliver actionable insights.
• Leverage analytics, automation and AI‑enabled solutions to strengthen risk monitoring and predictive risk management.
• Prepare and present risk insights, governance materials and assurance outcomes for senior leaders and governance forums.
• Collaborate with Line 2 risk teams and Centres of Excellence to ensure alignment with enterprise risk expectations.
• Coach and develop team members, fostering a high‑performing, risk‑aware culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience in operational risk, resilience risk, compliance, audit or risk management within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of operational and resilience risk frameworks, standards and methodologies.
