Senior Financial Accountant – Melbourne

About the role

The Senior Financial Accountant will report to the CFO & Company Secretary and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury management and governance across Murray Cod Australia. This role is ideal for a technically strong CA/CPA who enjoys financial reporting, audit management and supporting a growing ASX‑listed organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and coordinate month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Support Board and Executive reporting requirements and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Coordinate external audit activities and assist with ASX reporting and continuous disclosure obligations.
• Manage GST, FBT, PAYG and income tax compliance, and coordinate annual tax lodgements.
• Maintain financial controls, policies and governance processes.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking facilities and debt arrangements.
• Support covenant reporting, treasury compliance and working capital initiatives.
• Analyse harvest, inventory and biomass movements, and support inventory valuation and reporting.
• Manage leased and owned asset accounting, fixed‑asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Conduct capital‑expenditure analysis, investment appraisals and ROI assessments.
• Partner with the CFO and leadership team, collaborating with operations, HR and corporate functions.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Experience in senior financial accounting or finance management roles.
• Strong statutory reporting and technical accounting capability.
• Proven experience managing audits and compliance obligations.
• Solid taxation and treasury knowledge.
• Exposure to inventory accounting and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail.
