Senior Financial Accountant – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing business in Melbourne CBD on a 6‑month temporary contract. Working closely with the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in delivering key operational finance activities and supporting process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the month‑end close process for the consolidated group of entities.
• Post monthly accruals, pre‑payments, statutory, legal, tax and ad‑hoc journals.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting financial reporting.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with tax regulations and corporate policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors during year‑end audit.
• Prepare BAS and FBT returns.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven expertise in month‑end and year‑end reporting.
• Ability to work autonomously in a newly created role.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication.
• Available to commence at short notice.
