Senior Consultant – Financial Crime

About the role

Join a national Financial Crime team that helps organisations strengthen their risk and compliance frameworks. As a Senior Consultant you will lead advisory, review and remediation projects for leading Australian clients, focusing on anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorist financing and related regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the scoping, execution and delivery of financial crime advisory and transformation projects.
• Analyse and document policies, procedures and data across KYC, CDD, transaction monitoring, customer screening, sanctions and regulatory reporting (IFTIs, TTRs, SMRs).
• Draft findings and reports, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate financial crime risk.
• Manage project delivery, liaise with clients and supervise junior resources.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, gap analyses and design AML/CTF compliance programmes.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions for client staff.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislative reforms, emerging trends and technology impacts.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial crime risk, compliance or transformation.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of Australian AML/CTF regulations and international sanctions regimes.
