About the role
The Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor will support the Games minor venues program across Queensland, providing hands‑on safety assurance for design and construction teams. This site‑focused role ensures safety systems, processes and standards are upheld throughout delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary SHE resource for site teams and supervisors, delivering practical on‑site advice.
- Conduct spot checks, audits, inspections and incident investigations using ICAM methodology.
- Partner with design, construction and contractor teams to ensure safety systems are reflected at every stage.
- Coach and influence site supervisors and leadership to maintain safety expectations.
- Produce clear reports on safety performance and investigation outcomes for senior management.
Required profile
- Degree in a safety‑related discipline (preferred) and ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
- Approximately 10 years of safety experience in construction, infrastructure or utilities, including structural, geotechnical or civil works.
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple Queensland sites with regular travel.
- Strong communication skills for engaging contractors, site teams and client stakeholders.
Required skills
- ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
- High‑risk licences and Working at Heights certification (advantageous).
