Technical Director Aviation

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Aviation Team Lead to drive growth and delivery of aviation services from its Brisbane office, focusing on the Queensland market and serving both commercial airports and defence airfields.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business development strategy to secure new aviation projects across Queensland.
• Lead preparation of proposals, tenders and expressions of interest for commercial and defence projects.
• Take overall responsibility for profitable delivery of complex aviation projects, ensuring they meet time, budget and client satisfaction targets.
• Collaborate with discipline leads (civil, electrical, structural) to integrate multi‑disciplinary inputs.
• Provide technical expertise and project management oversight to support aviation projects in other ANZ offices.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in airside infrastructure engineering design, aviation pavement design and condition assessment.
• Experience working with commercial airport clients and/or defence (ADF/NZDF) portfolios, understanding procurement, security and technical requirements.
• Proven track record of leading, mentoring and managing technical project delivery teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Aviation Management or related field; professional accreditation (Chartered Engineer/RPEQ) desirable.
