Principal – Private Markets Group (Sydney)

About the role

OPTrust is seeking a Principal to join its Private Markets Group in Sydney. Reporting to the Senior Managing Director, you will work within a high‑performance team that manages global private equity and infrastructure investments for one of Canada’s largest pension funds.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new private equity and infrastructure investment opportunities across Developed Asia.
• Lead due‑diligence processes, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment.
• Develop investment theses and present recommendations to senior investment committees.
• Monitor and manage existing portfolio investments, providing ongoing performance analysis.
• Collaborate with OPTrust teams in Toronto, London and Sydney to align global investment strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private markets, preferably at a senior or principal level.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a global team.
