Housekeeper & Common Area Cleaner

About the role

Oaks Melbourne St Kilda Road Suites is expanding its housekeeping department with a dual role combining guest room cleaning and common area cleaning and guest support, on a casual basis. The position is based in St Kilda and involves keeping the property clean and helping guests as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms
• Complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated hours and collaborate with the team to meet cleaning targets
• Clean and maintain shared guest areas to the highest standards
• Assist with after-hours guest enquiries and address issues promptly
• Operate specialised cleaning equipment and products safely, with full training provided
• Build positive relationships with guests, colleagues and contractors

Required profile

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is highly regarded
• Good physical fitness and stamina, able to bend, lift and stand for long periods
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards
• Professional communication skills and strong time management
• Positive, proactive attitude and availability for flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand

Shift details

• Rotating roster Monday to Sunday, with weekend work required
• Shifts start between 8:00 am and 9:00 am
• Hourly rates (excluding superannuation): $33.05 on weekdays, $39.66 on Saturday, $46.27 on Sunday
