Sous Chef - FIFO Eastern Pilbara

About the role

Sodexo is looking for a Sous Chef to join its team in the Eastern Pilbara on a FIFO basis, working a 2/1 roster with 11-hour days. It is a permanent position in a leadership role supporting the Head Chef in running a remote site-based catering operation. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate staff to maintain a customer-focused, secure and safe working environment, covering food service across breakfast, crib, dinner and ad hoc bar meals. There is potential to progress to a Head Chef role in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in running a remote site catering operation
• Provide leadership and coordinate and support staff
• Maintain a customer-focused, secure and safe working environment in catering operations
• Manage food service across breakfast, crib, dinner and ad hoc bar meals
• Follow safety policies and procedures to protect yourself and colleagues

Required profile

• Trade Certificate, Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
• Extensive experience in large, high-volume kitchen environments and a thorough working knowledge of the resources sector
• Strong leadership skills and a focus on customer service
• Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work a variety of rosters and shifts
• A positive attitude and willingness to enjoy going to work each swing
