Financial Controller – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

Sunraysia Residential Services is seeking a Financial Controller to partner directly with senior leadership and take operational ownership of the finance function. This newly created senior leadership position sits within a not‑for‑profit aged‑care and disability services provider that has served the Mildura region for 50 years.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational core of finance: month‑end close, reporting, compliance, audit, budgeting, cash‑flow management and systems oversight.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Oversee financial operations of the NDIS Plan Management service line.
• Partner with operational managers across the business to drive financial insight.
• Lead the next wave of automation, CRM/ERP enhancements and AI‑assisted workforce tools.
• Shape the future direction of the finance function during a period of transformation.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience in a commercial finance role (public practice, corporate finance, transaction services, private equity, investment analysis or similar) within organisations of $50‑100m+ revenue.
• Proven people‑leadership experience – hiring, coaching and developing finance professionals.
• Demonstrated involvement in at least one major CRM or ERP implementation.
• Strong interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to finance and operations.
• Willingness to live and work in regional Mildura.
