Deckhand & Hospitality Attendant – Summer Cruise Season

About the role

Captain Cook Cruises, part of the Journey Beyond Group, operates sightseeing, dining and charter cruises on the Swan River in Perth since 1980. It is seeking Deckhands for its on-water team for the summer season from October 2026 to May 2027, with full-time and part-time positions available. The role combines customer service with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including berthing, mooring and line handling.
• Deliver exceptional guest service so guests feel safe, informed and enjoy their experience.
• Assist with food and beverage service and help maintain a welcoming onboard environment.
• Complete daily vessel preparation, cleaning, housekeeping and restocking.
• Assist with basic vessel maintenance and report operational or safety concerns.
• Promote a strong safety culture by following procedures and reporting hazards and incidents promptly.
• Work with the Master and crew to deliver safe, seamless experiences on the water.

Required profile

• Positive, energetic person who takes pride in their work and thrives in a team environment.
• Valid General Purpose Hand (GPH, AMSA approved) – desirable.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
• Current driver's licence and regular access to a car.
• Guest service experience.
• Experience in tourism or hospitality – desirable.
