Cost Accountant – Manufacturing & Retail

About the role

Daniel’s Donuts is seeking an Accountant to lead cost accounting across its manufacturing, wholesale and retail operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the cost structures, margins and forecasting that drive the business’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain bill of materials and standard costs for all products and sites.
• Ensure accurate costing of labour, production and material expenses.
• Run reliable costing systems and provide decision‑ready data.
• Analyse monthly consumption, variances and recoveries, turning data into actionable insights.
• Create dashboards and reports that are regularly used by stakeholders.
• Partner with product, sales and operations teams to cost new items and support S&OP forecasting.
• Manage inventory reconciliations, stocktakes and cycle counts end‑to‑end.
• Deliver weekly sales and margin reports across customers, brands and channels.
• Support budgeting for cost centres and produce monthly Flash P&L, business reviews and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to translate detailed financial data into clear business insights.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with product, sales and operations teams.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
