Commercial Advisor / Senior Commercial Advisor – Power

About the role

APA is looking for a Commercial Advisor and a Senior Commercial Advisor to join its West power generation team. Based primarily in Perth, the successful candidates will work with internal and external stakeholders to drive commercial performance, optimise contracts and support the growth of APA’s WA power portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support day‑to‑day management of existing commercial obligations for WA power assets.
• Identify, develop and execute commercial strategies and business‑improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and manage contract documentation.
• Collaborate with legal and other internal teams to ensure commercial consistency.
• Lead approval processes for new contracts or amendments up to Board level.
• Represent APA in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a commercial, project development or operations role within the power sector.
• Proven commercial negotiation ability with a track record of delivering financial or operational improvements.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret technical and financial data.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and influencing skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
