Claims Officer – Catastrophe Claims

About the role

QBE is seeking experienced Claims Officers to join its catastrophe claims team. You will manage end‑to‑end property claims arising from major events such as hail, cyclones, storms, floods and bushfires. The role is hybrid, allowing you to work both from home and in the office while contributing to a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of catastrophe property claims, from initial intake to final settlement.
• Apply case‑management expertise to assess, process and resolve claims efficiently and empathetically.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance and timely outcomes for customers affected by catastrophic events.
• Operate independently while collaborating with a high‑performing team.
• Demonstrate resilience and sound judgement under pressure.
• Uphold behavioural standards, clear communication and ethical decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in claims or case management within insurance or a similar field.
• Portfolio management experience handling multiple claims or clients simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship‑management skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate competing priorities, resolve conflict and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• High attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Customer‑focused mindset with experience in multi‑touchpoint service delivery.
