Technical Officer – Simulation and Practical Experience

About the role

Join Griffith University as a Technical Officer supporting simulation and practical learning for Nursing and Midwifery students. This hands‑on position prepares and maintains clinical teaching laboratories and simulation spaces, ensuring equipment and consumables are ready for student use.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain clinical teaching laboratories and simulation environments for Nursing and Midwifery programmes.
• Provide technical support during practical classes and simulation‑based learning activities.
• Manage equipment, consumables, stock control and procurement to keep resources safe, available and fit for purpose.
• Promote safe and compliant work practices in line with Work Health and Safety requirements.
• Collaborate with academic and professional staff to continuously improve student learning experiences.

Required profile

• Relevant health qualification or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Experience in clinical, laboratory, simulation or technical support, preferably in healthcare or tertiary education.
• Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices and ability to maintain safe learning environments.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Current driver’s licence is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Ability to learn and operate simulation equipment and related technologies.

• Base salary HEW Level 4: $76,126 – $80,321 per annum plus 17% superannuation (total package $89,067 – $93,976).
