Clinical Trial Assistant

About the role

The Clinical Trial Assistant provides administrative, screening, recruitment and operational support to the Clinical Trial Coordinators within Griffith University's Clinical Trial Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for clinical research studies in line with TGA, ICH‑GCP and NHMRC guidelines.
• Assist with participant recruitment, design recruitment materials and conduct pre‑screening activities.
• Draft, format and prepare ethics submissions, amendments and other communications.
• Design and maintain trial‑specific databases, enter data into electronic data capture (EDC) systems and keep high‑quality study records.
• Support study coordinators with information flow, administrative systems, online booking and onsite clinical visits.
• Perform routine research tasks such as data collection, entry, tracker updates and trial closure archiving.
• Assist with scientific/lab tests, order clinical consumables and equipment, and ensure proper storage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a health or science‑related field.
• Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and experience building relationships.
• Understanding of clinical sector confidentiality requirements.

Required skills

• Database design and maintenance.
• Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, spreadsheets).
