Site Manager – Transmission & Distribution

About the role

The Site Manager will lead on‑site execution and delivery of CHINT's Transmission and Distribution projects across Australia, covering power and distribution transformers, HV/MV/LV switchgear, packaged substations and related electrical equipment. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate site personnel and subcontractors through mobilisation, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site activities, leading site engineers, testing engineers and HSE coordinators, as well as appointed subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain site programmes aligned with the overall project schedule, monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning of equipment, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Manage interfaces with customers, civil and electrical contractors and other stakeholders, and resolve technical and logistical issues.
• Promote a strong safety culture, monitor compliance with Australian WHS legislation and CHINT procedures.
• Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, risk assessments and documentation for project controls and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical site management or construction, preferably in power transmission and distribution.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractors and deliver projects safely and on schedule.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS requirements and practical experience implementing site safety controls.

Required skills

• Experience with Power and Distribution Transformers.
• Experience with HV/MV/LV Switchgear.
• Experience with packaged substations or similar electrical infrastructure.
• Understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and method statements.
