Civil Site Supervisor

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Civil Site Supervisor to lead daily on‑site civil construction activities on a 2:1 FIFO schedule based in Karratha with rotations through Perth. The role combines administrative oversight with strategic execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all civil works, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, drainage, and paving.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, environmental regulations and Hitachi policies on site.
• Monitor project progress, identify issues, and take corrective actions to maintain timelines.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Manage site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports documenting activities, resource utilisation, and deviations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising civil construction on large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, local building codes, and HSE best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between project sites.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
• Proficiency with project management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
