Senior Tax & Financial Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Tax & Financial Accountant will lead tax compliance, support financial reporting and provide tax advice that underpins strategic decisions for Honda Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all tax compliance activities, including BAS, FBT, corporate income tax and year‑end reporting.
• Maintain tax governance, policies and documentation to satisfy audits and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate transfer pricing, Annual Compliance Report and other tax filings with Honda Motor Co. and global tax teams.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including profit & loss analysis, balance‑sheet reconciliations and global submissions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver financial insights and technical accounting guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes.
• Mentor junior accountants and contribute to ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in taxation or financial accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge of tax compliance and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using SAP or a comparable ERP system.
