Senior Audit Manager – Wholesale Credit

About the role

The Senior Audit Manager – Wholesale Credit provides independent third‑line assurance over wholesale credit risk for ANZ. Reporting to the Audit Director – Credit Risk & Models, the role leads complex audit engagements, evaluates governance and controls, and contributes to a strong speak‑up culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, high‑risk audit engagements across the Credit Risk Centre of Audit, delivering assurance aligned to the approved Internal Audit plan.
• Apply wholesale credit risk judgement to assess governance, risk‑management frameworks, oversight arrangements and control effectiveness.
• Manage audit delivery against timelines and budgets, ensuring disciplined execution, risk escalation and robust issue follow‑up.
• Contribute to annual audit planning by providing input on risk themes, regulatory priorities and emerging issues.
• Collaborate with audit teams and business stakeholders to produce high‑quality audit outcomes in line with Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex, high‑risk audit engagements within a financial institution.
• Deep understanding of wholesale credit risk governance, risk‑management frameworks and control environments.
• Ability to manage audit delivery, resources and budgets effectively.
• Experience contributing to audit planning and risk‑based coverage decisions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior business stakeholders.
