Registered Nurse – Community Older Persons Mental Health

About the role

The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Older Persons Community Mental Health Team. You will provide recovery‑oriented, person‑centred care to adults aged 65+ living with mental illness in community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, care coordination and evidence‑based therapeutic interventions across community settings.
• Collaborate with consumers, families, carers, aged‑care providers, general practitioners and other health professionals.
• Promote wellbeing, independence and quality of life for older adults while supporting their recovery journey.

Required profile

• Tertiary nursing qualification and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated experience assessing, treating and managing older people with mental illness in a community setting.
• Commitment to a consumer‑focused, recovery‑oriented approach and collaborative care planning.
• Active participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement activities.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills.
• Computer literacy with experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Current driver’s licence.
