Purchasing Officer

About the role

Join a leading defence contractor as a Purchasing Officer, supporting procurement activities across our Henderson and Garden Island sites in Western Australia. You will be responsible for preparing and negotiating Request for Quote (RFQ) packages, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, issue and manage RFQ packages for a range of defence contracts.
• Review and assess procurement initiatives to minimise risk and maximise value.
• Measure and report on contractual performance and obligations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to maintain strong relationships.
• Continuously improve procurement processes and documentation.

Required profile

• Australian citizen able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
• Experience with an ERP system such as IFS or a comparable platform.
• Membership of CIPS or the Australian Supply Chain Institute (ASCI) preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
• Current driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Hands‑on experience with an ERP system (e.g., IFS).
