Quality Assurance Specialist

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join its Surface Ships team in Osborne, South Australia. You will support the Hunter Class Frigate Program by ensuring that quality practices are effectively deployed across internal and supplier activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal and supplier audits and support corrective and preventative actions.
• Perform quality investigations and validate data against program requirements.
• Provide coaching, advice, and support to stakeholders on quality‑related processes.
• Execute quality process system activities, including reviews and documentation.
• Champion QA activities to meet company, program, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a positive quality culture.
• Support continuous improvement and quality engineering initiatives.
• Contribute to the management of the business management system asset library.

Required profile

• Demonstrated quality assurance experience, preferably in shipbuilding, engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of ISO standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 55001) and related practices.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop reports and documents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Lead Auditor qualification, relevant technical qualification, or maritime industry experience is highly regarded.
