General Manager – Hotel Leadership Role

About the role

The General Manager is the primary strategic leader of Le Meridien Melbourne, responsible for overall property performance, guest and employee satisfaction, and delivering ROI to Marriott International and owners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to maximize profitability, market share and brand positioning.
• Lead the executive team, hold them accountable for strategy execution and professional development.
• Drive sales and marketing initiatives, leveraging Marriott demand engines and pursuing new business leads.
• Oversee revenue management, pricing strategies and financial performance, ensuring budget adherence and profit targets.
• Build strong owner, community and stakeholder relationships through proactive communication.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive hotel experience, including prior General Manager role in a comparable property.
• Proven ability to manage complex, matrixed organizations and deliver results in ambiguous conditions.
• Strong track record in talent management, owner relations and community engagement.

• Financial analysis and budgeting (P&L, forecasting, capital planning).
