Guest Service Agent – Boutique Hotel Front Desk

About the role

We are seeking a warm, personable Guest Service Agent to join the Front Office team at our design‑led boutique hotel in Melbourne’s theatre district. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring smooth check‑in and check‑out experiences and delivering authentic hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with check‑in and check‑out processes, maintaining accurate guest records.
• Respond to guest queries by phone, email and in‑person with professionalism and local knowledge.
• Support breakfast service and the popular Hosted Hour, and handle day‑to‑day administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and other departments to uphold service excellence.
• Help resolve guest concerns quickly and contribute to a positive team environment.

Required profile

• Natural people‑person with a warm, professional communication style.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• Experience in a similar front‑office role is ideal, but a great attitude is essential.
• Comfortable with technology; experience with hotel systems is a plus.
• RSA preferred; barista or bar experience welcomed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using hotel management software (if any mentioned).
