About the role

The General Manager leads the Melbourne Marriott Hotel, overseeing all operational aspects to ensure guest satisfaction, financial performance, and brand standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to maximize profitability, market share, and guest satisfaction.
• Lead the executive team, hold them accountable for performance, and support their professional development.
• Drive sales and marketing initiatives, leveraging Marriott demand engines and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Manage revenue strategies, pricing, and forecasting to optimize RevPAR and occupancy.
• Maintain strong owner relations through proactive communication and performance reporting.
• Represent the brand in the local community, building relationships with officials, businesses, and customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in a CBD hotel of a major Australian gateway city.
• Degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field (2‑year degree with 8 years experience or 4‑year degree with 6 years experience).
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage financial performance, and drive sales growth.
