Finance Manager – Hands‑on role with progression to Financial Controller

About the role

Our rapidly expanding national services business is seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to join the Sydney office. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own day‑to‑day finance operations and support strategic initiatives during a period of strong growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare BAS, ABS and other statutory returns for CFO review.
• Support debtor management and collaborate with the AR Manager.
• Assist with financial review of new contracts and tender pricing.
• Lead financial audits and liaise with external accountants.
• Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements.
• Build strong relationships across finance, HR and payroll teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AP/AR, payroll, month‑end/year‑end close, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to build credibility with leadership and team members.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to roll up sleeves.

Required skills

• MYOB (preferred)
