Fault Coordination Technician

About the role

The Fault Coordination Technician monitors and manages Aurizon's Operational Systems Network from the Network Operations Centre, ensuring reliable rail operations by detecting and resolving faults 24/7.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor the Operational Systems Network, identify and investigate faults, irregularities and potential service issues.
• Coordinate testing of backup systems and perform moves, changes and preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Manage out‑of‑hours faults and customer enquiries, ensuring minimal train delays and customer impact.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders to maintain safe and reliable network operation.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Electronics and/or Telecommunications or Certificate IV in Instrumentation (mandatory).
• Registered Cabling Licence (AMA) or willingness to obtain.
• Electrical Trade Certificate or Restricted Electrical Work Licence (desirable).
• Ability to work shift patterns and previous experience in telecommunications or instrumentation.

Required skills

• Experience with telecommunications and instrumentation systems.
• Proficiency in logging and scheduling work orders in SAP (preferred).
