Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Airwallex is expanding its corporate network to support a growing global footprint. The Senior Network Engineer will own critical network infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability and scalability across regions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless and VPN infrastructure for global offices.
• Configure multi‑region hybrid networks linking physical sites, data centres and cloud environments (AWS, Alibaba Cloud).
• Lead configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless access points.
• Act as first‑responder for complex network incidents and conduct after‑action reviews.
• Collaborate with security, engineering and product teams to integrate network solutions.
• Automate network operations using Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams and procedures.
• Mentor and coach junior network engineers and participate in a global on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience with Juniper and Palo Alto Networks solutions.
• Proven ability to work in a global, multi‑vendor environment (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba).
• Strong command‑line configuration skills (JunOS, IOS) and experience troubleshooting complex corporate networks.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to make rapid decisions with incomplete information in a fast‑moving global business.
