Emergency Veterinarian – Animal Emergency Centre

About the role

Join the Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) in Frankston as an Emergency Veterinarian, working dynamic shifts that include weekends, nights and public holidays. You will provide high‑quality after‑hours care for sick and injured pets using state‑of‑the‑art equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat critical cases such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
• Utilise multi‑parameter patient monitors, in‑house labs, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography and mechanical ventilation to deliver comprehensive emergency care.
• Collaborate with fellow veterinarians and nurses, sharing knowledge and supporting a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree with eligibility for registration in Victoria.
• At least 2 years of veterinary experience, preferably with previous emergency practice.
• Calm, compassionate demeanor in high‑stress situations and strong communication with pet owners and referring vets.

Required skills

• Emergency veterinary clinical skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment: ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, mechanical ventilation.
