About the role
Wellways is seeking an experienced Senior Peer Worker to lead and mentor the peer workforce across Connected Care in Tasmania. This permanent, onsite role supports a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day delivery of services to ensure safe, high‑quality, participant‑centred outcomes.
- Coordinate team workflows, participant allocation, rostering and workforce coverage.
- Offer practical guidance and support to the peer work team in line with peer work values and Intentional Peer Support principles.
- Support implementation of organisational initiatives and local service improvements.
- Promote safe work practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Confident, approachable senior worker with leadership experience.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, Community Services, or equivalent lived‑experience knowledge.
- Personal lived experience of mental health challenges or service use.
- Demonstrated understanding of peer work values and principles.
- Experience leading frontline teams and coordinating daily operations.
- Strong understanding of recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed practice.
- Right to work in Australia, current driver licence and willingness to travel.
- Clear National Police Record Check, Working with Vulnerable People/Children checks and NDIS Worker Screening.
