Veterinary Nurse – Emergency & Critical Care (Frankston)

About the role

Join the Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) in Frankston as a Veterinary Nurse focused on emergency and critical care. You will work alongside experienced vets and nurses, caring for patients with complex conditions such as DKA, MODS, GDV, and those requiring advanced support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for emergency and critical patients, including those on central lines, high‑flow oxygen, ventilators, and feeding tubes.
• Perform IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anaesthesia monitoring.
• Assist with digital systems and Smartflow equipment during patient care.
• Participate in shift rotations covering evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification (students currently studying are considered).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high‑pressure situations.
• Genuine passion for animal care and willingness to work a rotating roster.
