Credit Manager – Mortgage Lending

About the role

We are seeking a Credit Manager to lead our mortgage lending credit and lending operations. The role will set strategic direction, ensure governance, and drive performance across Credit Teams, Loan Officers and support staff, aligning with Australian lender policies and NCCP obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Credit Team Leaders, Loan Officers and Assistants, establishing priorities, structures and performance expectations.
• Monitor and achieve application throughput, service capacity and SLA targets, managing workflow volumes and case allocation.
• Oversee credit assessment quality, approval outcomes and compliance with NCCP regulations, lender policies and internal SOPs.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex credit scenarios and operational issues, coordinating with brokers, lenders and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement through performance reporting, bottleneck identification and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months experience as a Credit Team Leader or equivalent leadership role within Australian mortgage lending.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑functional credit teams and manage operational performance.
• Strong stakeholder coordination experience with brokers, lenders and internal teams.
• Demonstrated coaching and development of high‑performing teams.
