About the role

Aviagen, a global leader in poultry breeding with pedigree lines for broiler chickens and turkeys, is recruiting Cloacal Chick Sexers for its hatchery in Goulburn, NSW. The work centres on sexing day-old breeder chicks and is performed in a team that follows strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Sex day-old Ross parent, grandparent and great-grandparent breeder chicks using cloacal sexing.
• Achieve a 98% accuracy rate, a 48.5% sexing split and a minimum sexing rate of 900 chicks per hour.
• Work according to the hatch schedule, which changes week to week; shifts typically start around 5:30 am and finish by 2:00 pm.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in cloacal sexing, especially in high-volume hatcheries handling breeder parent and grandparent stock.
• Either an IELTS (English) result of at least 5.0 overall with no minimum in any component, or current residence or citizenship in Australia.
