Chef de Partie – Eureka 89

About the role

Eureka 89, an events and dining space on the top floor of Eureka Tower in Melbourne, is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie. The role is full-time and involves leading your own section of the kitchen while supporting the Executive Chef, Head Chef and wider brigade, mentoring junior chefs and helping shape seasonal menu ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead food preparation and cooking within your section
• Deliver quality, flavour and presentation on every plate
• Coach, train and mentor junior kitchen team members
• Work with the Head Chef to develop fresh, seasonal menus
• Manage stock rotation, monitor shortages and waste, and support food and labour cost control
• Maintain food hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards
• Collaborate with the kitchen, Front of House and Sales teams

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in a commercial kitchen, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role
• Commercial Cookery qualification (or similar)
• Knowledge of stock control, food cost management and food safety
• Availability for a seven-day roster, including public holidays and shifts between 7.00 am and midnight
• Full working rights in Australia; a pre-employment medical and National Police check may be required

Required skills

• Excellent knife skills and strong knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage time well
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift stock up to 20 kg
