Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team at Master Builders Australia. Reporting to the Accountant, you will support day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to the financial health of our member-focused organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Raise invoices using our CRM system.
• Enter supplier data and process weekly creditor batch payments in Xero.
• Reconcile bank and EFTPOS transactions.
• Manage MBA credit-card transactions, receipts and tax invoices.
• Prepare monthly ageing reports and follow up on outstanding debtors.
• Process returned payments and create credit notes in Xero.
• Assist with fixed-asset management and monthly financial reports.
• Set up and maintain product codes between CRM and Xero.
• Configure instalment plans for members/clients in Bpoint.
• Process payroll and tax reports for the Group Training Organisation (GTO) and manage its ledgers.
• Handle quarterly MyLeave lodgements for GTO.
• Support the annual audit and perform other tasks as assigned by the Accountant.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a busy finance team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to our systems and processes.
