Accountant – Property Group – Melbourne CBD

About the role

Join a leading Australian property group in Melbourne’s CBD as an Accountant. You will work within a dynamic, high‑performing finance team supporting the company’s growth across project accounting and transactional duties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting for multiple entities, including reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger maintenance and cash‑flow reporting.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end processes, preparing income tax returns, financial statements and supporting work papers.
• Support management reporting, budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and commentary on performance and variances.
• Provide accounting and reporting support for a diverse portfolio of property projects, partnering with internal stakeholders.
• Participate in transactional finance activities and broader initiatives such as accounts payable, process improvements and system enhancements.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of accounting experience, preferably from a Big 4 or mid‑tier chartered firm or as an Assistant Accountant.
• Actively working towards CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience in the property sector is highly regarded.
• Strong initiative, ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
