Accountant – Full‑time onsite (NSW)

About the role

HLV Partners is seeking a full‑time, onsite Accountant to join its team in Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Urunga, NSW. You will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities supporting both internal operations and client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll obligations.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Support tax compliance, including BAS, GST and income‑tax return preparation.
• Collaborate with partners and team members on business advisory projects, audits and superannuation work.
• Communicate with clients, respond to queries and keep accurate records in line with professional standards.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in general‑ledger management and financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with Australian tax compliance (BAS, GST, payroll).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CA progress highly regarded.
• Understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency with MYOB accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
