Recoveries & Claims Officer

About the role

We are seeking a customer‑focused professional to join Capricorn’s Recovery Claims team, managing end‑to‑end recoveries and minimizing company costs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end recoveries process from initial notification through to finalisation.
• Review claim documentation, set and update reserves, and appoint service providers, including external recovery agents.
• Assess liability and negotiate outcomes with third parties and insurers daily.
• Ensure accurate application of policy terms, limits, and excesses while maintaining recovery files.
• Develop and execute strategies on complex matters to achieve timely and effective outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with members, insurers, and internal stakeholders through clear communication.
• Deliver high‑standard file management and maintain thorough knowledge of protection wordings and procedures.

Required skills

• Motor claims insurance experience.
• Liability assessment and third‑party interaction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using claims management systems.
