About the role

The Year 8 Learning & Engagement Leader (Leader Band B‑1) will coordinate curriculum delivery and student engagement initiatives for Year 8 at John Pirie Secondary School. This senior teaching position reports to school leadership and contributes to the overall educational strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor learning programs for Year 8 students.
• Lead engagement activities that promote student wellbeing and participation.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to align instructional goals.
• Provide mentorship and professional development for Year 8 teaching teams.
• Ensure compliance with South Australian education standards and school policies.

Required profile

• Eligible for a teaching appointment in South Australia.
• Willingness to commit to the tenure period from 22 January 2027 to 23 January 2030.
• Demonstrated experience in secondary education leadership or coordination.
• Ability to work full‑time with flexibility for part‑time or flexible arrangements.
