Temporary Design & Technology Teacher (Year 12)

About the role

Warriappendi Secondary School is seeking a temporary teacher to deliver Design & Technology and Construction Technology programmes to Year 12 students. This fixed‑term position runs from January 2027 to January 2028 and supports the school’s mission to provide culturally rich, high‑quality education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Design & Technology – Materials and Construction Technology curricula for Year 12.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that respects cultural identity and promotes student wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Provide feedback and support that empowers students to take ownership of their learning.
• Reflect on teaching practice and adjust approaches based on evaluation and student outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching Design & Technology or related subjects at secondary level.
• Demonstrated commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and cultural responsiveness.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and staff.
• Flexibility to work part‑time or flexible arrangements as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Design & Technology curriculum and assessment standards.
• Understanding of Construction Technology concepts and practical applications.
