Design & Technology Teacher – Port Pirie Secondary School

About the role

John Pirie Secondary School is seeking a passionate Design and Technology teacher to join its vibrant team in Port Pirie. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality Design & Technology programmes from Stage 2 through to Year 12, beginning Term 1, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Design & Technology curriculum aligned with VET and SACE standards.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive workshop environment and model best practice safety procedures.
• Develop real‑world projects that foster design thinking, craftsmanship and industry relevance.
• Collaborate with trade and technology educators to enhance cross‑disciplinary pathways.
• Support students, families and colleagues through strong communication and relationship‑building.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the South Australian Teachers Registration Board.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Excellent communication skills with students, families and staff.
• Willingness to consider part‑time or flexible arrangements.
