Design & Technology Teacher (Port Pirie) – Ongoing

About the role

John Pirie Secondary School is seeking a passionate Design and Technology teacher to join its team from Term 1, 2027. The position supports students from Year 7 through Year 12, delivering a curriculum aligned with VET and SACE pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Design & Technology lessons up to Stage 2.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive workshop environment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop and assess student projects that connect classroom learning with real‑world industry skills.
• Collaborate with trade and technology educators to enhance curriculum offerings.
• Engage with families and the wider school community to support student progress.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with students, families, and colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating industry‑standard workshop tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of design thinking, safety protocols, and craftsmanship techniques.
