Veterinary Surgery Internship – 12‑Month Program

About the role

Join Greencross Vet Hospital for a 12‑month Surgical Internship, working alongside specialist surgeons in a university‑affiliated teaching hospital. You will gain hands‑on experience in a wide range of soft‑tissue and orthopaedic procedures while developing your clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in surgical consultations, diagnostics and operative procedures.
• Participate in peri‑operative patient care, surgical rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Engage in journal clubs, case presentations and hospital‑wide teaching sessions.

Required profile

• Eligible for veterinary registration in Victoria and holds a current radiation licence.
• Strong communication skills, solid medical knowledge and a professional work ethic.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and eager to develop specialist surgical expertise.
