Veterinary Nurse – Part‑time (20‑25 hrs/week)

About the role

Greencross Vets Glen Eira is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to work part‑time (20–25 hours per week) in a supportive, close‑knit team serving the Ormond community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries and procedures.
• Prepare surgical theatre, monitor anaesthesia and manage patient recovery.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care, including medication administration and dental procedures.
• Collect and process pathology samples, perform radiography and handle emergency/critical care when needed.
• Maintain infection control, clinic hygiene and accurate medical records.
• Support reception duties, client communication and stock control.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in general practice.
• Strong knowledge of GP nursing, surgical assistance and anaesthetic monitoring.
• Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RxWorks (advantageous).
• Experience in surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring.
