Veterinary Nurse (Casual/Part‑Time)

About the role

Greencross Vets Hoppers Crossing is seeking a Casual Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, team‑focused clinic. The role suits both experienced nurses and those new to the field who have the right attitude and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, treatments and surgical procedures.
• Provide nurse consulting, client communication and patient advocacy as part of a Team‑Based Care approach.
• Prepare surgical suites, monitor anaesthesia and support patient recovery.
• Perform medical nursing, hospital care and administer medications.
• Collect and process pathology samples and maintain clinic hygiene and equipment.
• Support reception and administrative duties when needed and educate clients on preventative health.

Required profile

• Holding (or working towards) a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
• Enjoys client interaction and building strong relationships.
• Passionate about customer service and patient care.
• Friendly, approachable and confident communicator.
• Team‑player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Experience with IM3 dental unit.
• Digital radiography operation.
• Bair Hugger warming system.
• Multiparameter monitoring equipment.
• In‑house pathology laboratory procedures.
• Microscope use.
