Track & Civil Engineer – OpenRail Designer

About the role

Join GHD’s Design & Delivery Organisation as a Track & Civil Engineer, focusing on Victorian and Tasmanian rail projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver rail infrastructure from concept through construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop track and civil design solutions, including alignments, yard layouts, turnouts, drainage, earthworks and corridor infrastructure using Bentley OpenRail Designer.
• Prepare design models, calculations, technical reports and documentation for rail projects.
• Maintain and enhance GHD’s OpenRail Designer capability and contribute to digital engineering workflows and standards.
• Collaborate with structures, geotechnical, signalling, communications and systems specialists.
• Mentor graduate and early‑career engineers within a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience in rail track and civil engineering design.
• Demonstrated use of Bentley OpenRail Designer on rail infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of rail track geometry, corridor infrastructure, drainage and civil interfaces.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments and strong communication skills.
